Chemo Side Effect + A Skin Detoxing Mask Recipe
Happy Monday Dreamers! As the New Year is in full force we want to take a second and preview the journey we would like to take you on this month! January is the perfect time to cleanse our mind, bodies and souls. That is why this month we will focus on cleansing and detoxing of the clutter in our lives! Things you can expect are: kid friendly clean eating, organizational hacks, and DIY techniques to cleanse your life!
To kick off this first detox-oriented “tips and tricks to chemo” Monday we would like to share with you a recipe for a Detoxing DIY Face Mask from the astounding blog The Healthy Honeys! Chemotherapy has profound impacts on your skin, particularly in the realms of moisture.
Here is what you will need for the “Minty Chocolate Power Mask”:
- ½ Tbs. Bentonite clay
- ½ tsp. Cocoa
- ½ tsp. Maca powder
- 2 Tbs. Plain yogurt
- 2-4 drops Peppermint essential oil
Directions:
- Mix ingredients in small bowl.
- Spread a thin layer all over your (non-makeup-ed) clean face and leave it on until it dries, about 15-20 minutes. Remove by placing a warm washcloth over your face and letting the mask soften. Then, you can just wipe it off with the washcloth and rinse your face completely.
- Note: Contact with metal will decrease the effectiveness of bentonite clay, so use a wooden or plastic spoon to mix up your face mask.
So today begin with this detoxing mask to cleanse your face, and follow up the next day with your favorite moisturizer or try these DIY Moisture Masks.
